Wow, I grew up in New Haven and spent many hours at the Center for British Art, but I never saw anything like this strange and compelling painting.

Debu, I finally went to see this show. This painting is quite something. More orange/pink than this photo, with that orange/pink almost functioning as a kind of neutral with the sparkling whites acting more as "color." Very interesting.

Ohh, I can imagine it more orange/pink...these are colors from my region within India- historical context of this particular painting.
